The Youth Farm Project is back this year and has opportunities for youth to get experience in sustainable agriculture. This summer, we are looking for 20 youth, ages 14+, to work on a 4-acre vegetable farm for 9 weeks. This job will include three days of crew work on the farm and one day of paid development sessions that will vary from week to week (Tuesday-Friday from 9:15-1:30). There will also be an optional work day on Saturdays to help with our U- pick section on the farm. Over the course of these 9 weeks you will be growing, planting, and harvesting all of the vegetables on our farm. You will also be participating in selling the produce at local Farmer's Markets.
This job is a great opportunity to learn new skills in teamwork, farm work, leadership and to become involved with your community. Even if we can’t take any more summer employees there will be many opportunities to volunteer at the farm; for example, starting early in May we will begin our weekly Saturday work days, where volunteers are welcome to join us!
