The Youth Farm Project is offering a summer camp at the Ithaca Waldorf School for kids ages 7 to 12. For 2 weeks this June your child can experience nature, farming, and social justice concepts in a way that sparks their curiosity and invigorates deep thought through creativity. This is a summer camp like no other. Under the instruction and guidance of Laura Arias, Farm and Food Justice Educator at The Youth Farm Project, your child will learn about food and farming through an anti-racist and nature ethics learning model. Each day will include time for creativity, learning, discussion, contemplation, and fun of course! From plant walks, herbal sun tea, and tending to lambs, to learning about stereotypes, farming around the world, and indigenous land, this well-rounded program will ground concepts discussed throughout the school year and warmly open your child’s heart to new ones. Note: Although the two weeks of farm camp are separate sessions, the activities and discussions will build on each other.
