Events & Skill Shares

Events and Skill Shares allows us to bring some of the youth centered education from our programs to families and adults. These have been born from the requests of the youth we teach in wanting the space of community education we nurture in our programs to reach their parents, families and friends. As we face social, economic & ecological challenges we come together to learn & unlearn, to weave communities of care. Come gather with a constellation of folks and share what you know, share your needs and work together in service of liberation and intergrity. We offer a combination of virtual and in-person events & skill shares.

Beekeeping for Beginners
Sun., June 5, 2022
@11:00 AM - 2 PM EDT

Want to learn about Honey bees or the Honey making process? Come join us for this workshop with
YFP's beekeeping mentor, Gil Menda. Gil is a third-generation beekeeper who produces 100 percent raw honey. This means that the honey is never heated or pressure filtered, and chemicals that are harmful to the bees are never used. Raw honey preserves the aroma, flavor, and texture of the honey. Visit Gil's Tiktok to find out more about this workshop's facilitator and his bees. This event is free. It is for all families and individuals of color as well as families participating in Quarter Acre for the People. This space centers black, indigenous, and other folks of color on the land. All ages welcome.
