Cookin' & Groovin' @ GIAC
Cookin’ & Groovin’ provides a platform for teens and parents of the ALANA (African, Latino, Asian, and Native American) population to share cooking skills and habits that encourage healthy eating within their food culture. The educator will teach about the importance of vegetables in one’s diet, the medicinal properties of spices especially when added to food, and the individual nutritional components of the vegetables being cooked. By integrating music and dance into the cooking process, these workshops aim to portray how enjoyable cooking can be, especially when cooking with others.
