YFP Community Herb Garden
The Youth Farm Project is proud to debut our new U-Pick Community Herb Garden!! An offering to the community: herbs for cooking and medicine, available for harvest at affordable prices. We are focusing on growing commonly used plants that are difficult to find for wildcrafting, because they are non-native, or don’t typically grow in abundance in our area. We are also focusing heavily on perennials so that the space will require fewer inputs from us, particularly in the spring.
It is our hope that this garden will be a place for community education and access to the plants.
How it works!
Each time the U-Pick is open for business, Natalia Rathbun, the Assistant Farm Manager, will be there to weigh the harvests and chat with folks about each of the plants. The Youth Farm Project will not be offering advice pertaining to specific symptoms or conditions, or any type of medical advice.
Currently ready for harvest
Borage, Culinary sage, Mint, Bee balm, Horehound, Oregano, Tulsi, Calendula, and Anise Hyssop.
